Pura Vida in Costa Rica

When I received the invitation to travel to Costa Rica a few months ago I have to say I was pretty ecstatic. It has been a place long on my never ending bucket list so I immediately confirmed. I was able to bring along a model and friend Jordana who brought more beauty to the photos and to the trip with her light soulful attitude.

Underwater Adventures with GoPro Hero 6

I recently was gifted a GoPro Hero 6 from friends at Sportchek. To be honest, I have never really used GoPro much, which is odd with all the outdoor activities that I am involved in that don't exactly fair well with my DSLR! I just hadn't given it much thought to opportunities with GoPro. I was excited to give it a try especially because I have seen some exceptional work done with GoPro and the new places I could take my Photography. In this particular case a trip to Mexico with some tropical snorkeling seemed like the perfect start to my new GoPro Adventure.

Tasmania

Tasmania has been on the pages of my mind for some time before this trip, so when I had yet another flight back to New Zealand to see my boyfriend I decided we should go together and experience a new place.

Destination Phoenix with Air Canada Rouge

My surprise 48 hour destination trip with Air Canada Rouge has been one of my favourite spontaneous adventures. It started at the airport check in, with no idea where my flight was headed, I checked in and discovered that I was going to Phoenix, Arizona! I have never done a surprise destination like this so it was quite the experience to book all my activities on route using the Rouge Wi-Fi on-board.

Fire and Ice: Our Iceland Experience

Obviously the beauty of Iceland is one of a kind. After seeing many images from the country I knew it was somewhere I needed to visit, it was only a matter of making it happen. The contrasting landscape is simply stunning. I booked a trip with my friend Leanne a few weeks ago and this is what we found, captured and brought back as memories.

Our Little Local Mountain Vacation

Fall comes quickly in the Canadian Rockies so when I had a spare weekend to explore the fall colours, I immediately booked a trip to Lake Louise with my friend Jordanna! Being spontaneous is one of the best ways I travel! But when it comes to booking popular areas, it can get pricey last minute. Luckily there are tricks and ways around that. For this blog post, I want to show you why I travel and how you can easily book your next getaway.

Life with Ice in the Cariboos with CMH Heli

I spend all year looking forward to any trip with CMH, and this September I was lucky enough to join them again in the Cariboos Lodge near Valemount BC, which they are reopening next summer for heli-hiking. The last lodge I stayed at with CMH, the Bugaboo Lodge, had me thinking that no place could ever come close however the Cariboos have exceeded all expectations and now I can't even compare the two! I can never decide if glaciers or mountains are most beautiful, lucky for me I didn't have to choose here because the place was chalk full of both.

Headed North of North with Merrell Outside

We designated two weeks at the end of August to explore Alaska and Yukon, I only made one miscalculation, two weeks is not near enough time to explore both regions in the slightest! As we drove the 35 hours to the Tombstone region I knew we would only have time for one area so we decided to stay in the Tombstones. Here is a collection of stories and visuals of our rainy lovely trip out here supported by Merrell Outside.

Real Back-country Camping with Merrell Outside

Nothing says adventure much like heading out into the wilderness with a good friend and letting the unexpected find you, this is said to an extent of course. I have done many multi day trips, and I know the importance of preparation so I am here to share with you our three day trip in Kananaskis and how I was prepared, and not so prepared; and how most of my trips into the mountains come with a fair bit of suffering.

The Wild Newfoundland & Labrador

West Coast Trail with BCA Tours

Every backpacking trip always proves to teach me a new lesson, but they all have one purpose that surpasses all and that is the power of escaping. Nature provides us with our basic physical needs, but what I think people forget sometimes is the emotional and physiological needs that are met through nature. It became apparent to me how much we need to escape into the wilderness to truly reset and refocus our lives and to just 'be' without any distractions. I met some incredible people this week, made some worthwhile memories and most of all have had a gentle nature cleanse to bring appreciation back to my reality.

Ten Reasons Why Sailing in New Zealand is a Must Do

I recently went on a seven day sail trip to an offshore Island in New Zealand with my boyfriend and his family. I'm here to share my top ten reasons to find yourself on a sailboat!

Four Thirty in the morning and time to wake up, start of the first day. Greg, Adam, Christian and Liam are all waiting in the pickup for our drive to Truckee. Catching up with my old friends on the ride into the mountains is how it starts and man did I need a good catch up with these friends. It has been a year since seeing them last which isn't uncommon when all of us travel as much as we do.

My Backcountry Hut Experience: Boulder Hut Kimberly

My good Friend Matt Mosteller contacted me several months ago asking if I would be interested in taking a helicopter into the beautiful Purcell mountains to spend a week at Boulder Hut with a group of very cool people. Kimberley is our starting point and since it wasn’t far from home of course I replied YES… only moments after receiving the email.

Why Winter at Mt Engadine

Normally for me a month of winter is all I can really stomach before I want to head to somewhere warm but this season I've tried to embrace the cold months and enjoy what it really has to offer. Having amazing experiences in the summer at Mt. Engadine Lodge only further encouraged me to see what it's like in the winter, and I think it may be even more magical if that's possible!

Why Borneo is an Incredible Adventure

Out of every ten people I told that I was going to Borneo, eight of them had no idea where it was. I was one of those eight at one time. So why go to a place I had never even heard of until a few months before the trip? Well partly my boyfriend had convinced me because he has been there before and partly because I was ready for an incredible adventure like no other.
